Hi
I own a 1976 GT4, SN 11966. It is a European model, many claim this to be the best version. To the Tifosi that usually means “Closest to what Enzo wanted”. There are lots of myths surrounding the name Dino on this car. This was the first non-Pinnifarina designed Ferarri and also the first V8 road car. When it first came out in 1974 the only mention of Ferrari was on the cam covers and the various serial number plates. In 1976 the US versions were rebadged as Ferrari with most Dino badges being replaced by Ferrari.
Regardless of the innuendos and myths, this is a wonderful car to own and drive. And to work on. No electronics, and because it is a Euro model there are no polution control and other after thoughts such as crash proof bumpers. While there is also no power steering to help with parking and 5 point turns (3 pointers are not feasible
), once you are moving over 10 MPH everything just becomes “right”.
This site is about our car. Yes, our car. My wife also loves the car. She drives it occasionally although she gets more pleasure out of my obvious joy in working on the car.
If you own, recently bought or sold a 308GT4, please, please contact Peter at Dino 308GT4 Registry to update the information.
